You do not need to change the kind of singer you are to participate.

Classical singers can bring an aria, art song, operetta selection or classical crossover piece. Musical theatre singers can bring a legit piece, or a dramatic ballad, contemporary theatre song or a great Broadway showstopper.

We’ll explore how different styles use the voice, where classical and musical theatre techniques intersect, and how concepts such as breath, resonance, registration, range, projection, phrasing, dynamics and vocal colour can be applied across repertoire.

A beautiful voice is only part of the equation. Whether you are singing Mozart, Puccini, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, or contemporary musical theatre, the goal is the same: to understand the music, connect to the text and tell the story.

This is a class for singers who want to tackle BIG repertoire and discover more of what their voices can do.
