The power of maintaining a positive attitude sounds obvious and seems like it should be second nature; but, as performers we are at our best when we are open, honest, and vulnerable. There is always something that can discourage, distract, and dismiss those positive thoughts towards staying on the path as you share your gifts.

Work on your vocal skills, because in the end, the techniques you have developed will eventually last longer than these emotions and thoughts.

Your body is listening. It hears your thoughts, and it reacts accordingly.

Make sure that your mind gets lots of TLC.

Avoid polarized thinking that things things either work out just as you wanted, or everything is a failure and a waste of time. This isn't reality. Life is shades of gray and most outcomes have a mix of highs and lows. Both are opportunities for learning how to improve the next song.

One great way to avoid the self sabotage is to perform in a masterclass. Having a small group of singers to try out your new repertoire and new technique, gives you a performance opportunity and a change to re-set those thoughts.
